Teacher and teachings

It is said that the first teacher was Paramasivan and the first disciple was Parvathi.

The names are not  important.They were God and his consort who was not different from himself.He was voicing the truth (sathyam) of this world. Meaning, on what basis this world is functioning.It is said that she was sitting on his lap and he was lovingly talking.It was not like

'I am telling you something that you do not know' or 

'you better listen to me carefully, I am telling you something, I am bigger than you'. 

It is said that the whole talk was like talking to Himself. He was talking aloud. And Umadevi was listening to Him with so much love and regards, as if she is listening to her own inner voice.

There was magic in the air.The whole atmosphere was filled with mutual love and respect.

This is what happens between an ideal teacher and an ideal student.

I am only striving to make it a regular feature in my classes.And I also imagine how it would be, if it were to happen everywhere wherever something is taught and learnt. 

But we also have to acknowledge the fact that there was no pressure of syllabus and deadline when the great God was teaching!
